NAHDU'A RASTAHN

False Prophet

The Rastahn clan was once a thriving clan deep in the Shroud, but very few remain. Nahdu'a, unfortunately, did not inherit any of this clan's well-known gifts. Instead, he carries with him an unusual amount of bad luck and a sly tongue that rarely gets him out of it. He calls himself a Hearer, and peddles fortunes and charms to gullible folk. He is, of course, not proven to be a Hearer at all, but Nahdu'a prides himself on being quite the liar.

Appearance

Nahdu'a is built like an average male Keeper, lithe but some muscle. His skin is an ashen grey with a light dusting of freckles under his grey eyes. His hair, though usually tucked under some sort of hat or bandana, is also an ashen tone with the fur along his ears growing darker and spotted. He usually dresses in casual leathers and adorns himself with various feathers and charms.

Personality

Nahdu'a would like to think of himself as incredibly charming. While he is equipped with sharp wit and a shrewd mind, it only gets him so far. The Keeper seems to have a cloud of bad luck that hangs over him no matter where he goes. He's been known to trip (literally) right into trouble, and is always in the wrong place at the wrong time. Despite this, Nahdu'a keeps a relatively positive and confident outlook, firmly believing he's not the problem.

A lot of people know Nahdu'a as a liar, and there's very few people that he's ever really shown his true self to. He's a man who hides behind a smile and a shrug. Whether or not the idea bothers Nahdu'a or not is unclear, but he seems to have embraced what he is.

Hooks

Below is a list of hooks that might help us facilitate an IC reason for meeting. These are just suggestions, and most common ways to get involved with this character. Have another idea or way to hook in some roleplay? Feel free to let me know.

  • Gridanian Resident: Nahdu'a has lived in and around Gridania most of his life. It is rare he finds himself outside of it. Anyone who also frequents the Shroud may have seen him in passing, or know of him or his sister.

  • Healer: Despite not actually being a member of the Fen, or actually being a Hearer as he claims, Nahdu'a does know quite a bit of conjury and is fairly decent at it. He makes medicines and herbal remedies to peddle in the city and has offered his healing services before. Injured? Ill? He might be able to help, for a small fee.

  • Dishonest Merchant: Nahdu'a's main source of income has always been selling small charms and 'advice' under the guise of a Hearer. Claiming to know the will of the wood, and uses it to swindle gullible Gridanians. Been tricked? Superstitous?

Note-worthy NPCs

  • Ahti Rastahn: The only living relative that Nahdu'a knows of. Ahti is his much older sister who lives in Gridania and whose couch he often crashes when he gets into trouble. Despite having her own family and her own worries, she makes time to look after him. Her love can be a little tough at times, but Nahdu'a is incredibly grateful he's not completely alone in the world.

Hey, I'm Hithren, and I've been doing this RP thing for about fifteen years, about four of them being in FFXIV. Below is some stuff you might want to know about me before engaging to make it easier on the both of us.

Disclaimer

As a general disclaimer: I suffer from major anxiety. If I do not answer or engage with you right away, please do not be offended. Sometimes I freeze up, or get discouraged.

I do not engage in ERP unless it is with close friends who I have gotten to know OOCly, and my characters have formed bonds with ICly. If you're looking for someone to satisfy such things, I'm likely not the roleplay partner for you. Don't get me wrong, I love ships and romance, but I do prefer organic development above all else.

I am not a multi-verse/AU roleplayer.

I prefer my roleplay to be lore-compliant ( within reason, we all bend a bit here and there), story/plot-driven, and mature-themed.

Accessibility

I am located in the PDT/PST timezone. At the moment I have a fluctuating schedule, so I prefer setting things up in advance rather than walk-ups. My main cast of characters are located on the Balmung server, and I do have some alts on Mateus and Goblin. I am more than happy to accommodate others via the World Visit system, however.

I predominantly roleplay in-game, and prefer this method over all others. I am open to Discord RP if that is the only way we can work something out, but I will warn in advance, I do tend to be slow to reply.
